Martini & Rossi entered motorsport for the first time as a sponsor on 2 Alfa Romeo Giulietta cars in 1962 at the 3 hours of Daytona (USA), which was the first ever endurance race being held at Daytona International Speedway before it became the famous 24 hours race.
But the "Martini Racing" brand appeared later in 1968. Numerous teams and constructors in different motorsport categories competed under the Martini Racing official name or just with the help of Martini’s sponsorship.
The most famous among them were Lancia in the Rally Championships -including the WRC- and in world endurance Championship, Porsche, also in the WEC, Tecno, Brabham, Lotus and Williams in F1 and Alfa-Romeo in touring car.
Those teams brought to Martini Racing countless victories in prestigious races and championships such as Porsche wins at Le Mans 24 Hrs in 1971 with its 917 and later in 1976 & 1977 with Mr Le Mans Jacky Ickx on the 936, or Lancia wins at Monte-Carlo and the WRC championship titles with their 037 Group B car, the Delta S4 and more than any other car, the Delta HF 4WD & Integrale that brought 6 manufacturers world titles to the italian team.
